AES-IntelliNet
Introduces IP-Link
Expands
Reach & Capacity of AES-IntelliNet Networks Via The Internet
Peabody,
MA (March 29, 2004) AES IntelliNet today announced the release of
IP-Link. The IP-Link connects multiple or geographically isolated
AES-IntelliNet wireless networks to the central monitoring station
via the Internet. Users can now monitor one or more AES wireless
networks from a single location anywhere on the globe!
AES-IntelliNet
wireless mesh networks relay alarm signals via signal hopping from
one subscriber unit to another until the signal reaches the Central
Station. In some situations, groups of alarm panels are geographically
isolated from the primary AES-IntelliNet network. In these situations,
the AES IP-Link collects alarm signals from a cluster of AES-IntelliNet
subscriber units in a campus, city, or region. It then communicates
these alarm signals to the Central Monitoring Station or alarm automation
software via the Internet, rather than the wireless network.
The
IP-Link provides 2-way data transfer and operators can remotely
manage and administer distant AES-IntelliNet networks via the IP
Link. Furthermore, built in “error checking” and “message acknowledgement”
means that the integrity of the network can be relied on.
The
network capacity of geographically dispersed IntelliNet networks
can be multiplied if some portion of the existing wireless network
communicates alarm signals to the central station via an AES IP
Link through the Internet. AES-IntelliNet networks no longer need
to be contiguous to each other to extend the reach of a single AES-IntelliNet
wireless network.
Alarm
monitoring companies can now cover multiple cities or remotely located
AES-IntelliNet wireless networks from a single location.
Proprietary users can integrate and monitor
their AES-Intellinet wireless networks through their existing wired
networks.
Dale
Bonifas, Vice President of Operations, at Alarm Detection Systems
Inc. in Aurora, Illinois stated ‘We look forward to the implementation
of the IP-Link since it will allow us to double or triple the size
of our network without exceeding capacity. I was also pleased by
how responsive AES was to our specific needs. We came up with about
15 items during our beta testing of the IP-Link and AES responded
positively to each of them.” Alarm Detection Systems currently has
over 2500 accounts with IntelliNet.
Tom
Kenty, General Manager of AES Corp.'s Alarm business unit said “The
introduction of IP Link provides a fundamental component in the
expansion of the AES IntelliNet line which enables our customers
to significantly expand their business using the Internet while
increasing the capacity from their existing AES IntelliNet network
investment”. is releasedQ2
Established
in 1974, AES Corp. is the industry leader delivering high reliability
wireless mesh networks to multiple industries including the fire
alarm and burglary/intrusion market. Wireless mesh networking is
an innovative technology for applications that need to communicate
data over a large geographic area with a high level of reliability
at a low cost of ownership. AES-IntelliNet technology offers easy
installation and management at a performance and price level far
superior to traditional communications methods, both wired and wireless.
AES-IntelliNet network users in the Fire & Burglary/Intrusion
Alarm industry have gained significant revenue, communications and
cost advantages while meeting the high standards of reliability
required. AES-IntelliNet systems are used in over 100,000 locations
in over 130 countries.
