AES Corporation, founded in 1974, was a contract-engineering firm providing PCB design and manufacturing services. In 1976, under contract to the U.S. Government, AES Corporation began developing products for specialized security applications. This expanded rapidly from providing high reliability security products to providing additional installation and design services to US Government facilities around the world. Today AES Corporation celebrates its 30th year of providing a wide range of security products, services and technology worldwide.

In the early 1990s, responding to a U.S. Government request to develop a wireless communications network that could communications needs in remote and often hostile parts of the world AES Corporation created and patented a long range 2-way wireless mesh network that requires no dedicated radio towers, phone or cellular services. The fast communications, high reliability, easy installation, and low cost of ownership of IntelliNet continues to drive the companies growth today.

IntelliNet technology quickly became the industry leader in the Fire and Security Alarm industry and continues to be the foundation for a new generation of AES Corporation products serving industries that are well suited to the benefits of wireless mesh technology.

In addition to the Fire and Security alarm monitoring industry, AES-IntelliNet products provide Home Arrest Monitoring, Vehicle Tracking, Vending Machine Management, and various Telemetry applications.  

In 2000 AES Corporation introduced AES-IntelliNet technology to meet the needs of the Energy Information Management industry with  energy monitoring, reporting, and control products.

Today, AES Corporation serves as the parent company to four business units;

•   Advanced AMR Technologies - providing AES-IntelliNet based Energy Management.
•   Technical Security Services - providing classified security design & install services.
